On Sunday, Sept 15th from 12 - 2PM, Ellen Kalish from Ravensbeard Wildlife Center will be here at the shop in Poughkeepsie. Come see hawks and owls up close. Ask questions and take photos of these beautiful and amazing birds of prey. You may recall the young Saw-whet owl that needed to be rescued from the Rockefeller Christmas tree back in November 2020. Ellen is the woman who cared for this owl until it was ready to be released in the wild. She tells all about this incredible event in the children's book, "The Christmas Owl", written by Ellen Kalish and Gideon Sterer with illustrations by Ramona Kaulitzki. Ellen will have copies of this wonderful book for sale, as well as other Rocky the Owl merch. Come join us for this fun and educational event!
